To Fellow Elders of the PCA:
On behalf of the Southwest Florida Presbytery this is your second and more detailed
invitation to Tampa to attend General Assembly 2000. Attached are several brochures and
information that will make your participation in this holy convocation more productive and
enjoyable.
As you arrive at the Tampa airport, please look for the representatives of Southwest
Florida Presbytery who will be there to greet and assist you with transportation to your
hotel of choice.
On Monday, we have engaged James Ward to conduct a concert at Busch Gardens especially
for our youth, but also as an outreach to any youth visiting Busch Gardens that night.
In addition to the usual business of the Assembly, we have arranged for a series of
lectures on the theme of Confronting The Culture for the Tuesday afternoon
pre-Assembly seminar.
Worship seminars on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday have been arranged around the theme
of Consecrating The Church with speakers TE Joe Novenson, Dr. Sinclair Ferguson and
TE Skip Ryan. On Thursday and Friday the focus of the worship services is to Confront
The Culture with authentic Christianity with speakers TE Harry Reeder and TE Frank
Barker.
Our youth leaders have arranged for the youth to work with Habitat for Humanity on
Wednesday and Thursday as well as to enjoy ice skating.
Our women in the presbytery have planned a full schedule of spiritually challenging
forums as well as enjoyable visits to nearby places of interest.
Childrens activities are also planned,.
Please call upon us if we can assist in making your visit enjoyable to warm (humid!)
and sunny (apart from the thunderstorms were famous for!) Tampa in June.
